find out more about

Lead THE Cause is a summer teen evangelism training event that helps youth leaders create passionate disciples who are reaching their world with the Gospel.

What is Lead THE Cause?

At Lead THE Cause (LTC), youth groups spend an intensive week praying, learning, and brainstorming together to reach their community for Christ. They experience:

Deep Prayer

Interceding for their lost friends. Students spend the first day and a half learning to align their heart with Godā€™s and His desire for all to come to faith in Him.

Faith Sharing

Students get many outreach opportunities to share the Gospel. Two entire afternoons are dedicated to hands-on outreach, speaking with strangers, and starting Gospel conversations. Students are also challenged to bring up the Gospel with friends and family back home via text, phone calls and written letters.

Vision Planning

Groups get time to brainstorm together about how to reach their community for Christ. Students will pray and plan ways they can reach their own circles of influence with the Gospel, coming away with a strategic plan and specific goals.

What Lead THE Cause Does

This powerful week really flips the switch within the hearts and minds of students. It changes youth ministry culture from teens being the consumers to the creators of ministry opportunities. Students will come home from LTC:

Ā The LTC experience empowers youth to make a difference for Christ in their circles of influence, and it trains youth leaders to fuel the movement by learning how to create a Gospel AdvancingĀ ministry.

Why Lead THE Cause Works

Teens love a challenge. Students are used to being challenged at school, on the sports field, and just about everywhere but church. But difficulty is at the heart of growth, and risk is a part of every endeavor thatā€™s worth doing. We believe young people are capable of great things and they appreciate it when adults ā€“ and the Church ā€“ believe they can do more.

When students are given the chance to go deep in prayer, worship, and evangelism, their faith becomes their own. Christā€™s Cause to seek and save the lost becomes their cause.

Lead THE Cause is a catalytic event that serves as the training ground where concentrated, intentional time with God kick-starts studentsā€™ growth as disciples and disciple-multipliers.

Frequently Asked Questions

General

Lead THE Cause is a summer teen evangelism training event where your students are trained to be ā€œon missionā€ for life. Theyā€™ll come home passionate for God and others and armed with a strategy and plan to build Godā€™s Kingdom within their community. Your teens will gain confidence in their faith, know how to start and engage others in Gospel conversations, and be lit on fire to see everyone in their world know Jesus.

Lead THE Cause is put on byĀ Dare 2 Share Ministries. The mission of Dare 2 Share is ā€œEnergizing the Church to Mobilize youth to Gospelize their world.ā€

Dare 2 Share also partners with SonlifeĀ andĀ Colorado Christian UniversityĀ to make Lead THE Cause a reality.

More information on speakers and artists is coming soon.

Lead THE Cause (LTC) is designed for youth leaders and their students who want to leverage their talents and abilities to advance THE Cause of Christ. We encourage you to bring every students you would bring on a mission trip. Training is geared toward students between 9th and 12th grade, but middle school students and college freshmen are invited at the discretion of their youth leader.

The mission and training week dives into principles that will inspire and equip your students to take their faith to the next level and sets them up to understand and model discipleship. Participants will be actively learning, praying, witnessing, and strategizing. Theyā€™ll leave LTC motivated and equipped with a specific, customized plan for impacting their world for Christ and His Cause.

Three mornings at LTC will have a Core Training breakout session for all attendees. During Core Training, students learn the skills and tactics needed to effectively and confidently share their faith in a relational, conversational manner. Core 101 is for all first time attendees.Ā  Core 201 is for any returning LTC attendee and is recommended for the higher track by their youth leader. See the next FAQ for more information on the Core 201 track.

Core 101 will feature the following topics:

Ask, Admire, Admit
The key to effectively sharing your faith is by having a conversation, not giving a presentation. People are more open to discussing their spiritual views when they know that you genuinely care about them and want to know what they believe and why. This session goes over our proven approach that allows you to start a spiritual conversation in non-offensive, genuine way.

GOSPEL
The Gospel is an overview of the entire story of the Bible. In this session you will drill down into each letter of our GOSPEL acrostic so that you have a thorough understanding of what the Good News is and so that you can remember it in the midst of your conversation. A great tool for you that will increase your confidence in being able to really share Christ and Godā€™s plan with your friends, family, teammates and neighbors.

Now What?
The point of sharing the Gospel is for the person to understand what God has done for them and that He desires a relationship with them. Bringing them to a point where they understand that they need to decide what they are going to do about Jesus is a critical component of sharing the Gospel, but many of us have a hard time when it comes to bringing them to a decision. Now What? Helps students with this crucial skill and provides approaches that will enable them to give the listener a chance to respond to Godā€™s love.

For returning Lead THE Cause students, the 201 track takes students deeper in their faith, their ability to share the Gospel, and in growing as disciple-makers and leaders. Core 201 is for students attending LTC for a second or third time.

Core 201 ā€“
This track is for returning students who are recommended for the next level of training by their youth leader. A bit more intense than Core 101, students are pushed in the areas of personal renewal, apologetics and disciple-making.

Mornings include worship, leadership and evangelism training.

Afternoons provide practical application including two days of outreach to the community.

Evenings provide worship, motivational teaching, small group time, strategic planning and collaboration.
